Watergate will have Kingbird restaurant, a whiskey bar and rooftop lounge for its dining options

The Washington Socialite community will be back in rare form once this project is complete. Just minutes from the well-to-do Georgetown neighborhood!

Washington diners will have several swanky options to choose from when the Watergate Hotel reopens in March, including a new fine-dining restaurant called Kingbird, a whiskey bar named after a song by The Doors and a first-ever rooftop lounge for the property. All of the dining options at the Foggy Bottom property will be under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Santoro, a veteran of Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and most recently the chef at Andaz 5th Avenue in New York City. It’s also a bit of a homecoming for the chef: He served as chef de cuisine under Chef Brian McBride at Blue Duck Tavern at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Washington from 2008 to 2011.
